Marion Elizabeth Holland

Marion (Bunny) Elizabeth Holland died on Sunday, September 3, 2017, in Sandpoint, Idaho, There will be a rosary service at St. Joseph’s Catholic at 7:00 pm on Thursday, September 7, 2017. Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 11:00 am on Friday, September 8, 2017 with Father Dennis C. Day officiating. Interment will take place in Pinecrest Memorial Park. Born in Columbus, Ohio on November 27, 1925, Bunny graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy and Mt. Carmel School of Nursing. Following graduation, she worked as a surgical nurse at Mt. Carmel Hospital in Columbus, Ohio until her marriage to Don Charles Holland on April 7, 1947. Bunny and Don resided in Columbus where they raised a family of eight children. During that period, Bunny found the time to volunteer at Mt. Carmel Hospital and served as President of the Mt. Carmel Auxiliary. Once her youngest was raised, Bunny took a refresher course and returned to work as a surgical nurse at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Bunny and Don moved to Sandpoint, Idaho, in 1984 and immediately became involved in the community. Bunny worked with Habitat for Humanity, the Bonner Community Food Bank, the Bonner County Human Rights Task Force, St. Joseph’s Soup Kitchen and St. Joseph’s Altar Society. Together, Bunny and Don were founding members of the Bonner County Homeless Task Force (now Transitions in Progress). Bunny enjoyed playing tennis and golf, traveling, reading, gardening and quilting. But most of all she enjoyed being surrounded by her family. Bunny is survived by her children Don Holland (Rebecca) Sandpoint, Leslie Passarelli (Joe)Escondido, California, Marion McNulty (Mike) Sandpoint, Debbie Link, Gahanna, Ohio, Michael Holland (Roz) Sandpoint, Theresa Fox (Steve)Denver, North Carolina,, Joe Holland, Columbus, Ohio, Kevin Holland (Beth) Hillyard, Ohio. Bunny is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Bunny’s devotion to her faith and her generous spirit guided her to a life of serving others selflessly. She will be remembered for her kind heart and sense of humor and will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
