Ted R. Gordon, 88, of Sandpoint passed away, Friday, March 29, 2013 at Life Care Center.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 20th in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel. Father Dennis C. Day, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, will be the officiant with inurnment in Pinecrest Memorial Park.
Ted was born on September 10, 1924 in Sandpoint, the son of Albert and Vida Gordon. He graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1942 and served with the US Marine Corps during WW II. He returned to his hometown and married Bernie Rheinschmidt on May 1, 1947 in
Coeur d’Alene, ID.
He worked in the local Pole Yard industry until his retirement in 1985. He enjoyed wood carving, including totem poles. He loved his family and was very active in the lives of his grand children.
Ted is survived by his daughter Denise (Deni) Gordon of Sandpoint, ID; his son Nels Gordon of Priest Lake, ID; 6 grand children; numerous great grand children; numerous nieces and nephews and a close friend Bernice DeMers in Hope, ID.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his daughter and son-in-law Cyndie and Jim Smith, two brothers Bill and Albert.
