Ronald Gene Wensel Sr.

Ronald Gene Wensel Sr., 81, passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at his home in Sagle, Idaho. Ronald was born on July 25, 1932 in Cleveland, Ohio the son of Merle and Dorothy Wensel. Ronald suffered from paranoid schizophrenia most of his adult life. He was a proud US Air Force airman and served for four years. During his time with the Air Force he would spend time in Korea where he would contract polio and lost the use of his legs. He fought back, and with the help of God, he walked again. He went on to have a family, which he loved very dearly. They had an adventurous life traveling the country until mom and dad retired and settled in Sagle. Ronald was an early member of the Assembly of God Church. Ronald was the most kind hearted and generous man you would ever meet. His passion to help others was unrivaled. The family requests that memorials be made in Ronald’s name to River City Hospice, 205 N 1st Ave, Sandpoint, ID 83864. Ronald is survived by his four children Ronald G Wensel Jr. of Marysville, CA, Jeffery Wensel of Sagle, ID, Cheryl Wensel-Wallace of Casper, WY, and an adopted son Scott Wensel of Idaho, six grandchildren and his doggies Socks and Gigi He is preceded in death by his wife Vivian, and his daughter Candance Wensel.
