Edward Joseph Solce, 90, passed away in Kootenai, Idaho on Thursday, June 12, 2014.
The Mass of Christian Burial will in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Clark Fork, Idaho at 11:00am, Thursday, June 19, 2014. Father Bob Lilly, Heron, Montana will be officiating. A potluck reception will follow in the Clark Fork Senior Center.
Edward was born on February 8, 1924 in his parents’ home, in Brooklyn, New York the son of Eustichio and Roccadella Solce. He married Mathilde “Tillie” Obermeyer on November 13, 1948 in New York, New York. They had lived in Arvada, Colorado; Millard, Nebraska; Westchester, Ohio; and Albuquerque, New Mexico prior to moving to Heron, Montana in 1989. Ed and Tillie moved to Clark Fork, Idaho in 2003.
Ed worked as a salesman in the home improvement field. He was active in Noxon, Montana, serving as president for the Senior Citizens and was chairman of the Sanders County Democratic Party. In Clark Fork, Idaho he was active in the affairs of the Senior Center. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Clark Fork, Idaho, also serving as a Deacon.
Ed enjoyed his family, his community, fishing and was known as an artist. He was an avid fan of the “Big Band” sound. His wife of 65 years, Tillie, passed away on May 30th this year.
He is survived by three children Joseph Solce, Ed J Solce, Jr, (and Sonna), and Maria Myers all from Heron, Montana. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Also surviving is his sister Dora Baio in Rocky Point, New York.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
