Lillian Alidia Hoskins, 96, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2006 in Sandpoint, Idaho. Private family burial services were held at Clark Fork Cemetery in Clark Fork, Idaho. A public memorial service will be held at a later date. Lillian (Ness) was born on December 28, 1909 in Clearbrook, Minnesota. She married her husband Walter Leroy Hoskins on December 29, 1931. Walter & Lillian owned and operated the Hoskins Family dairy farm near Strandquist, Minnesota until they moved to Dickinson, North Dakota in 1955 and then on to Clark Fork, Idaho in 1956. There she worked for the US Forest Service and then the Clark Fork School System as a janitor for many years. Walter & Lillian celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1981. Lillian loved painting in oils & watercolors and has given many of her paintings to family & friends. Lillian loved spending time with her family. For many years, Lillian was an active member of the Clark Fork Lutheran Church and the local grange. Lillian was one of 14 siblings. Their father was born in Oslo, Norway and their mother was born in Wisconsin. Several of Lillian’s siblings lived to be over 100 years old. Family members proceeding in her death were her parents Carl and Margot Ness; husband Walter Hoskins; sons James and Gordon Hoskins; grandson Kevin Hoskins; granddaughters Colleen Hubbard and Connie Colbert; great-grandson Daniel Pringle, 3 brothers and 8 sisters. Lillian leaves behind her children Joanne and Bob Welch (Minneapolis, MN); Charlotte and Russell Colbert (Pablo, MT); Bob and Freda Hoskins (Clark Fork, ID); and her daughter-in-law Nora Hoskins (Clark Fork, ID). Also surviving are Lillian’s numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and her sisters Gerda Wichterman of Spokane, WA and Dora Lovejoy of Roseau, MN.
