Belva Mae Pierce

January 11, 1940 — June 1, 2025

Sandpoint

Belva passed away peacefully on June 1, 2025 at her home with family beside her. She was born January 11, 1940 in Kootenai, Idaho to Clarence and Lillian Linscott. Kootenai is where she was raised with her siblings Yvonne, Betty, and Robert. Belva was surrounded by generations of family and life long friends. Many of which she continued to have monthly luncheons with. She graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1958.

Shortly after graduation Belva married Jack Pierce (whom she had met at the Bonner County Fair years earlier) on June 7, 1958. They children quickly followed – Robert (1958), Kristy (1960), and Susan (1961). She had her hands full! The family settled on the Glengary Peninsula, at the Pierce family ranch. Years later another child came into the family, Terry (1973). Belva had a great relationship with the Pierce pack. Many happy memories, gathering with family, neighbors and friends.

Later in life Belva and Jack divorced. She eventually settled in Sandpoint on Church St. Belva loved to go on road trips with her sister Betty, cousin Sharon and Aunt Shirley (or anyone who wanted to go for a drive) stopping at antique/thrift stores, country music venues, garage sales and seeing this country.

Belva had many hobbies – sewing, quilting, knitting, crochet, flower gardening and antique collecting to name a few. She made beautiful handmade gifts. Also, gathering with friends to play pinochle.

Belva is survived by a brother Robert. Her children Bobby, Kristy, Susan and Terry. Grandchildren Steffanie, Mikayla, Kristopher and Spencer. Great grands Kiya, Lillie, Sophie, Emma, Carver and Vander.

Belva was well loved and will always be remembered.

There will be a memorial gathering June 29, 2025 from 2 to 4pm at the Sagle Senior Center on Monarch Road.
