Bonnie Naomi LaVon Mitchell, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on June 6, 2025, at the age of 82. Born in Colfax, Washington on May 4, 1943, Bonnie brought warmth, determination, and love into the lives of everyone she knew.

She was the cherished daughter of C.V. and Maude Strohm. Bonnie grew up with deep Idaho roots and married Jasper “Roy” LeRoy Mitchell on June 6, 1979. They shared 46 lively, love-filled years together—marked by laughter, resilience, and true partnership.

Bonnie’s proudest accomplishment was her 42 years and 4 months as a Bonner County school bus driver—a job she genuinely loved. She took great pride in her work and made a lasting impact on countless children and families in the community.

Her family was her world. Bonnie was a fierce and loving presence—never afraid to speak her mind, always ready to stand her ground, and forever dedicated to the people she loved. She leaves behind a strong and spirited legacy through her children and grandchildren.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: Tammie Spade, Tina Carter (Don), Tony Spade (Kris), Todd Mitchell (Sarah), Mark Mitchell (Tamie), Ginger Bump (Barry), and Becky Grove (Jereme).

Her adored grandchildren include: Taylor Hill, Samantha Jo Gullickson (Tyrell), Jacqueline LaVon Bloom (Clinton), Amber Spade (Logan), Cody Spade (Nara), Chad Spade, Clancy Spade (Ashley), Arin Larson (Chris), Adrian Mitchell, Sophia Baker (Kyle), and Mamie Gould (Mike). Markie Mitchell, Kayla Mitchell, Jaylee, Tona and Haylee. And many great grandchildren.

Bonnie is survived by her twin brother, Carl Strohm (Charlene) and sister, Sharone Strohm.

A private graveside service for family and close friends will be held on the morning of Friday June 13, 2025, at Westmond Cemetery.

Following this, all are welcome to join in honoring Bonnie’s Celebration of Life potluck at the Sagle Senior Center at 1:00 P.M. —where stories, memories, and Bonnie-style laughter will be shared in her honor.

Bonnie will be remembered for her bold spirit, quick wit, deep loyalty, and unshakable love for her family. She was a pistol—sharp, spirited, and one-of-a-kind. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her fire and love will live on in all who knew her.
