Brian Russell McCord born May 16, 1948 in California, died December 4, 2021 at home in Sandpoint Idaho
 
Brian McCord was a truth seeker from a young age. Raised in a large military family, he had an intense and difficult childhood. He was driven to find meaning in life, through awakening to the truth and expanding his consciousness. He was an avid meditator and living much of his life focused on the love, and the light within.
 
Brian was a loyal family man, he held and modeled loving family values and a strong moral compass. He was a Warrior of the Light and his desire was for us to carry on the DivineLightMission.  Brian died peacefully at home, one of his favorite places to be. He worked for years at the Ruby finding a match for his night Owl rhythm and dedicated and loyal work ethic.
 
Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall ‘Buck’ and Sylvia McCord, his sister Dawn and his brother David. Brian is survived by his wife of 42 years, Wendy McCord and his five children; Blissa Nizzoli, Jenny (Dave) Aars, Benjamin (Gillian) McCord, Pristina (Josh) Thomas, and Christopher McCord; his 13 grandchildren; Nick Nizzoli, Julian Nizzoli, Lucia Nizzoli, Mirabella Nizzoli, Taylee Aars, Beau Aars, Annika McCord, Dezmund McCord, Clarissa McCord, Noah Thomas, Emma Thomas, Nathan Thomas, and Camille McCord. His siblings Norman ‘Chug’ McCord, Marshel ‘Tis’ Joseph, Susan Papke, many nephews and a niece, and his teacher Prem Rawat.
 
The family, in collaboration with the Ruby hotel, is hosting a celebration of life at the Farmhouse Restaurant in Pend Oreille. Tonight, Thursday, December 9 from 5 to 8 PM in the banquet room
