Christopher Colton Charles Collison

Chris Collison, age 40, passed away at his home in Sandpoint on October 28th, 2025.

Christopher Colton Charles Collison was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Kenneth and Kerry Collison on October 5th, 1985.

Chris spent his early years in the mountains Park City, Utah and many summers on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay in St. Michaels, Maryland with grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Chris attended Washington Elementary and Sandpoint Middle School in Sandpoint, Idaho and graduated from Prospect High School in San Jose, California.

Chris was an avid outdoor adventurer who enjoyed skiing, mountain biking, camping and exploring the mountains. Chris was a devoted animal lover and was rarely seen without a dog by his side. His sense of humor and willingness to live life to the fullest drew people to him everywhere he went and was reflected in the many people who loved him. Chris will be remembered for his big smile, generous spirit, sense of humor, and for loudly singing every word to every song he heard.

Chris was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews who will remember fun adventures swimming and jumping off bridges, wading through rivers and family movie nights.

Chris is survived by his father Ken Collison, his mom and step-dad Kerry Collison and Warren Burton; his brother Jack Collison, sister-in-law Darra, nephew Jackson and niece Olivia; stepbrothers Glen (Chelsea) Burton, Warren Burton, stepsister Gina (Israel) Singer and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of Chris’ life will be held at a later date.
