Daniel, “Dan” McDonald,62, passed away peacefully in his home in Sagle, Idaho on Wednesday, July 3, 2024.
Dan was born on May 30, 1962 in Spokane, Washington to Roger McDonald and Nancy (Barden) Boswell, he was raised in Washington and later Harrison, Idaho where he graduated in 1980 from Kootenai High School. Later, he married his high school sweetheart, Aprile Cascon, and they moved to Snohomish County Washington where he began his construction trade.
Dan was a very creative and artistic man who was proud to start his own business “McDonald’s Home Maintenance.” He took on many creative jobs working on extravagant rock work, huge retaining walls, and many more jobs which brought out more of his unique creativity in each job.
Dan had a strong passion for the great outdoors with many adventures of camping, fishing, 4-wheeling, sky diving and simply hanging out with friends and family. Dan also had a genuine love and passion for cats and all living creatures. These passions eventually lead him back to Idaho where he and Aprile bought 10 acres of property. Here they built their home using many of the recycled materials from his business. Their home reflected his ingenuity.
After a time of travel and more adventures, Dan returned back to Sagle, Idaho and put down roots.
While living in Sagle, Dan found a great connection with many friends at his local hangout, “Connies” where he will be remembered shouting “Come On!!!!” At Connies, Dan enjoyed friends, lots of laughter, trivia night, and many games of pool. Dan had a unique gift of humor and he could bring out the best in people or just put a smile on their face.
Dan will be forever remembered for his kind and gentle spirit as well as his compassion for humans. If you needed a shirt, Dan would give you the shirt off his back! Dan will be greatly missed!
Dan is survived by his brothers James, Jesse, and Luke. Also, he is survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Dan’s life at 11:00 am on July 27, 2024, at the Coffelt Funeral Service 109 N Division Avenue, Sandpoint, Idaho 83864.
