Darrell Adair Rosholt

Darrell Adair Rosholt, 85, of Sandpoint, Idaho, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 1, 2025.

Born May 11, 1940, to Arthur and Lila Rosholt, Darrell proudly served in the United States Navy for 20 years, retiring in 1977.

He married JoAnn Buck in 1962, and together they raised two sons, Kenny and Mark, while traveling the world with the Navy. After retiring, Darrell returned to Sandpoint and joined his father at Rosholt’s Shoe Service, eventually taking over the business and continuing the family trade for another two decades.

In 1987, Darrell married Linda Thurlow, embracing her daughters—Shelley, Jodi, and Kirsten—as his own. Darrell and Linda shared a love for travel, antiques, and their cherished dogs: Gretchen, Tar Baby, and Angel.

Darrell was a beloved grandfather and great-grandfather, affectionately known as "Poppa," who found his greatest joy in family and life’s simple pleasures. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, unwavering devotion to his loved ones, and, most of all, his infectious laughter and signature rosy cheeks.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Lila; his siblings, Jan and Cathy; and his beloved wife, Linda. He is survived by his brother, Art, of Clark Fork, Idaho; and his children: Kenny of Gig Harbor, Washington; Mark of San Diego, California; Shelley (Shane) of Priest River, Idaho; Jodi (Clint) of Sandpoint, Idaho; and Kirsten (Shawn) of Sandpoint, Idaho.

Darrell also leaves behind eight grandchildren—Megan Rosholt, Karlyn Hassler, Megan Brewington, Autumn Nielsen, Samantha Morikawa, Chandler Brewington, Addilyn Brewington, Heatherly Shreffler, and Bryce Shreffler—and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense joy and pride.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Coffelt Funeral Services, 109 N Division Ave, Sandpoint, Idaho. All are welcome to join in celebrating Darrell’s life.
