Harold Dee McMasters, 89, passed away peacefully in his home on December 20th, 2025.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents Margaret Velma McMasters and Wayne Owen McMasters, as well as his brothers Alan and Dale.

He is survived by his children Lisa Morgan, Tracy Bane, Dale Bell, Daniel Bell, and David Bell, his grandchildren Kamryn McMasters, Haley Morgan, Mary Beal, Jeffrey Mason, Sarah Nelson, Finnegan Bell, and Maya Bell, in addition to his great grandchildren Peyton Beal, Mason Beal, Gabriella Mason, and Elena Mason.

Harold studied at Berkeley until joining the Army in 1953. After which he became a husband and a father.

He moved to Sandpoint in 1982, and decided that he never wanted to leave. He loved riding motorcycles, snowmobiles, skiing, snowboarding, fishing, and even skateboarded into his 70s. He was also a talented musician who played the guitar, banjo, and harmonica. Later in life he found another passion, building and flying RC planes.

Harold was one of the founding fathers of Lake RC Flying Club in Sandpoint, a club for all ages who enjoy flying radio-controlled planes. Since the club's inception over twenty years ago, Harold has been an integral member. In addition to being a great flyer, he was a source of knowledge and guidance for other pilots when it came to nitro engines. His contribution and support made it possible for the club to grow into what it is today. To honor his legacy, the club has decided to name their field McMasters Field.

Harold was a beloved father, grandfather (Grampoo), and friend whose presence will be missed by many.
