Joshua Charles Pilch, age 48, passed away on May 25, 2026, following a tragic car accident. His beloved stepson, McCoy Jensen, passed away alongside him.

Josh was born on January 1, 1978, in Sheridan, Wyoming, to Elizabeth Cox and Kenneth Pilch. He was raised in Provo, Utah, where he developed the strong work ethic and determination that would define his life. Josh was known as a hardworking man who loved to work and dedicated himself to providing for his family and serving others.

Josh faithfully served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Chile Santiago South Mission from 1999-2001. He served honorably in the Army National Guard.

Josh was married to Jennifer Fraser and together they had Bennett and Georgia Pilch of St. George, Utah.

He later married Kimberly Rackman, who is the mother of Mailee, McKinley, McCoy and Myelle Jensen, and together they built a loving family and welcomed two children, Haven and Bode Pilch. Josh cherished his role as a father. He took great pride in teaching his children life lessons, practical skills, and the value of hard work. He cherished watching his children learn, grow, and succeed.

Those who knew Josh will remember his larger-than-life personality and the way he showed love to those around him. He was famous for his bear hugs, quick wit, and playful teasing—one of his favorite ways to show affection. Josh was blunt and unapologetic, always telling it like it was, yet his genuine heart and generosity were evident to everyone who knew him. He believed deeply in hard work and perseverance, often reminding his children that when you start something, you finish it. Driven, self-motivated, and determined, Josh was a problem solver who rarely backed down from a challenge.

Josh was a strong and loyal friend, a devoted husband, and a loving father. He was smart, resourceful, and sometimes stubborn, but his family knew those qualities came from his desire to do things well and help those he loved. He used his skills and resources to serve countless people in his community. If someone had a need, Josh was often called on to fill it, and he did so quietly and willingly. Above all, Josh loved his family fiercely. He created countless memories filled with laughter, fun, family projects and unforgettable moments that will be cherished forever.

Josh is survived by his beloved wife, Kimberly Rackman Pilch; his children and stepchildren, Mailee Wilding, McKinley Jensen, Myelle Jensen, Bennett Pilch, Georgia Pilch, Haven Pilch, and Bode Pilch; his parents, Elizabeth Cox and Kenneth Pilch; and his sisters, Chris Donnell and Katy Hanks.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Don and Jeanette Cox, Stanley and Margaret Pilch; and joined in death by his stepson, McCoy Jensen.

Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 602 Schweitzer Cutoff Road, Sandpoint, Idaho 83864. A family greeting will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m.

Interment will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Josh’s greatest legacy is the example he set for his children and family. His love, big heart, strength, and dedication will be remembered always.
