Linda Suzanne Buck

June 5, 1952 — December 22, 2022

With deep regret, we announce the death Linda Suzanne Buck (Beckmann), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Linda passed away peacefully and without pain at Holy Family Hospital on December 27, 2022, from complications related to COPD. She was 70 years old.

Linda was born June 5, 1952, to Willa Viola Beckmann (Cable) and Harold Edward Beckmann in Pullman, WA. Her family later moved to Spokane where she grew up with her brother Jerry and her sister Barbara. As a child, Linda loved to figure skate, play the piano, water ski, and spend time with her family at their cabin on Lake Coeur d’Alene.

Linda devoted most of her early adult life to her children as a loving and devoted stay-at-home mom. She had a deep appreciation for nature and beauty and had a special talent for gardening. She was also a lover of interior design and made our childhood home look like a page out of Martha Stewart Living. When her youngest children entered high school, Linda went back to work as a rural mail carrier for the US Postal Service and delivered mail in the Colbert area for about 20 years.

Linda was the glue that held our family together. While her husband travelled the world as a missionary, Linda was home making sure every base was covered and every need was met. She was an incredible mother who sacrificed day-in and day-out to ensure her kids were always taken care of. Linda took her role as “Nana” very seriously and loved spending time watching “toons” with her grandkids. She was beautiful, kind, generous, intelligent, and resourceful.

Linda is survived by her children Jason, Laurie, Aaron; stepchildren Brian, Kristi, and Scott; and 11 grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Barbara, nieces, nephews, and many friends who have become like family. Linda was welcomed home by her husband of 42 years and the love of her life, Ken Buck, who passed away just 30 days before her. She was heartbroken by his passing and our family is comforted to know that they are together again. She was also welcomed home by her mother Willa, father Harold, and brother Jerry. She will be greatly missed by her children, family, friends, and all that knew and loved her. There will be a joint memorial service for both Linda and Ken Buck on January 14, 2023, at 12:00 pm at Spokane Bible Church, 9419 N 5 Mile Rd, Spokane, WA 99208.
