Phyllis “June” Jeffres Robertson, 91, of Sandpoint passed away on January 6, 2024.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am, Thursday, January 11, 2024 at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Brandon Herron officiating. Interment will take place in Pinecrest Memorial Park.
June was born at home on June 7, 1932 to parents Cliff and Daisy McGraw in Torrington, Wyoming. She attended school, grade 1-11 in Huntly, Wyoming finishing her senior year and graduating from Sandpoint High School in 1951. She married Alvie Jeffres in Torrington on August 12, 1950 and Alvie immediately whisked her back home to the lakes and mountains of North Idaho. After 39 years of marriage Alvie passed away on October 22, 1989. On August 22, 1992 June married Harry Robertson and they enjoyed a wonderful marriage together for nearly 26 years until Harry’s death on July 6, 2018.
June graduated from Sandpoint School of Beauty and opened her own salon, Debutante Beauty Salon in 1965 at their home on North Fourth St in Sandpoint. She was also active in the Sandpoint Elk’s women’s group as well as Beta Sigma Phi. She enjoyed watching her children participate in sports from youth through high school. She was surrounded by a large group of close friends from Sandpoint to Sagle. June was very proud of the creation of the Alvie C. Jeffres Memorial Scholarship that has been providing scholarship funding to many students in the Sandpoint area for the past 33 years and will continue in her absence.
June was preceded in death by her parents and nine brothers and sisters; Anna, Bob, Betty, Gerald, Florence, Dorothy, Charles, Judy and Sandra.
She is survived by sons Dale (Vicki), Larry (Mary Ann), Bruce Ahner (Lynette) all of Sandpoint; daughter Debie Johnson (Dale) of Watertown, South Dakota as well as stepchildren Scott Dockins (Debi), Kelly Dockins and Kathy Rainey. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great, great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
June’s family would like to thank the First Baptist Church of Sandpoint and her church family that has been there for her for so many years. Additionally, so much gratitude goes out to Bonner Community Hospice and the incredible “angel” staff of this amazing organization that got them through this difficult time at the end of her life.
