Roger Eugene Bejot

October 13, 1939 — May 24, 2020

Roger Eugene Bejot left his earthly home and stepped into the arms of his Lord and Savior at his home on May 24, 2020 surrounded by his family. He was born to Jerome A & Stella Bejot on October 13, 1939 in LongPine, NE.

He spent his childhood on Buffalo Flats between Ainsworth and LongPine, NE. There he started school in a one room school house then went to Ainsworth until his parents moved to LongPine, where he finished high school and worked for his dad at Bejot Oil Co.

Joining the Federal Reserve in March 1958, he started basic training in Fort Collins CO. From there he went to Texas where he studied radar training. He then spent 9 1/2 months on the Atol of Eniwetok in the South Pacific where the atomic bomb was tested. Afterwards, he returned to Fort Gordon, GA until he was discharged in March 1960.

He married Getha Vetter of Bassett on June 5, 1960. They lived in LongPine and he worked for his dad in the oil business. Because of his love for the mountains in 1966 he decided to move his family to Idaho where he learned the drywall trade and provided for his family.

In October of 1966 he accepted Jesus as his Savior and told everyone about his conversion and about Jesus. He ministered in Emmett and Glenns Ferry, ID. He had a love for the Indian people and ministered on the Duck Valley Indian Reservation. In January 1980 the family moved to Sandpoint, ID where he took the pastorate of the Church of God. He retired May of 1988, but continued to minister and witness to all he met along the way.

As a boy of 5 he received his first gun and his love and passion grew from there. He took his family into the mountains and taught his girls how to enjoy the outdoors and passed his love of guns and the mountains onto them.

For those who knew him he loved to tell stories, reminiscing of old times. He enjoyed hunting, riding his ATV in the mountains, camp fires and fishing off the dock with family and friends.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Getha Bejot, daughters and son-in laws: Patricia Clagg, Vergie & Tony Rutherford, Jennifer & Matt Tillberg, David Chinn, Gary Goldsby, along with 15 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild and his brother Arnold Bejot of Billings, MT. Plus many other family members and a host of friends.
