Athol, ID

Ronald Lee Ferraro went home to be with the Lord on Saturday January 27, 2024. Ron, as he was affectionately known to friends and family, was born in Elmira, NY in March 1935 to Elnora Williams and Lee Dethloff. Ron joined the Navy in 1952 and served 21 years, with a tour to Vietnam, retiring from the Navy in 1973. He then began his second career in civil service for 20 years, retiring in 1995. Ron spent most of his retirement years hunting, dancing, riding horses, and volunteering for multiple organizations and events. Ron volunteered his time as “Buffer” the elf with the Spokane Fantasy Flight for at risk children and Spokane Dream Center. Ron never stopped being active and even took up kayaking in the past few years. Ron was well known for his sense of humor and his corny jokes. Ron is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Janet “Jannie” Ferraro, his son Brian Ferraro and his 5 siblings. Ron is survived by his six stepchildren and many friends. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to North Country Chapel, Elk City Baptist Church, Far Reaches Ministry or Spokane Dream Center in Ron’s name.
