Ronald “Ronnie” Roy Randall passed away peacefully in his home in Laclede, Idaho with his family by his side on August 21, 2026 at the age of 88.

He was born in Blue River Wisconsin on March 25, 1938, to Glenn Randall and Elma (Persinger) Randall. At the age of 4, they relocated to Boscobel, Wisconsin, where he grew up spending many years working on the family farm. He learned about hard work and was always told that If he worked hard, he could go fishing, so that is what he did. He played sports in high school; football, basketball, and baseball and joined a men’s softball league later in life. After high school, he worked for a local cheese factory in Boscobel for about 3 years and then eventually followed his brothers, Harland and Ralph to San Diego. He got a job with Ralph washing windows for high rise buildings and eventually, in 1961 he joined the Army and was stationed in Fort Devins Massachusetts where he became an MP. There, he served 3 years.

After he left the Army, he relocated back to San Diego where he met Elizabeth (Beth) Webb. They were married on June 3,1967 in Winterhaven, California and purchased their first home in Descanso California where they raised their children. Ron worked for the State of California Highway Department for 27 years, until he finally retired in 1992. With their kids grown and families of their own, he and Beth moved back to Blue River Wisconsin and built their dream home on a small farm. Beth had always had a dream of having horses, so Ron made sure to fulfill that dream for her as he always wanted to do and they got their horses. They were very happy and made the most of their lives. In 2013, Beth passed away from cancer.

In 2014, Ron relocated to Sandpoint Idaho to be close to his daughter, Shannon and her husband Kennie and eventually moved to Laclede, Idaho to live out the rest of his days. He got to hunt elk for his first time and Kennie taught him new ways of fishing on Lake Pend Oreille with planer boards. He was able to enjoy life again without Beth as best he could and he, as always, enjoyed helping the neighborhood by plowing and mowing, that was Ron!

Just before his passing, Ron’s best friend of 84 years, Bob Morrison, made an 8-hour trip to spend some final moments and share special memories. They sat out on the back porch talking and laughing about their adventures through the years for about 2 hours. What a true testament to this lifelong friendship, as they said their goodbyes. Dad started his journey back to Mom the following day.

Ron is survived by his three Daughters, Renae, Rhonda and Shannon, Son-in-law (SON) Ken Dunton, 9 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren and one on the way.

There will be no service. The family asks for everyone who knew Ron, honor his love, patience, and compassion, and remember the special moments they shared with him. He had the biggest heart of anyone I know. May his smile live on forever in each of us. He will be cremated, and the family will take him to his final resting place in Jacumba, California.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be sent to Eden Home Hospice in Sandpoint Idaho. Their caring nurse, Kelli, made it possible for a comfortable, painless, passing.

In closing, “Dad, it is NOT too wet to plow, you have NOT forgotten your worms and you CAN go fishing! We love you and will see you again one day.
