Ronald "Ron" Dean Lunde

Ronald Dean Lunde, age 69 years, passed from us on Sunday, April 25, 2021 in his home in Ponderay, ID.

 

Born April 16, 1952 in Denver, Co, to Charles & Carlene Lunde, he and his twin brother Don, joined older siblings, Dale, Linda, and Ken. After Charles passed away in 1964, the family moved to Sandpoint, where they settled on Rapid Lightning Rd near Carlene’s parents, Claude & Lola Henry. From an early age, he enjoyed playing piano and guitar.

 

Ron graduated from Sandpoint High in 1970 and on June 1, 1971, entered the U.S. Navy. It was while serving in Seoul, South Korea at Commander U.S. Naval Forces, Korea, that he met and married Hae Ok Kim. He and Hae Ok had three lovely children, Warron, Erica, and John. When his tour in Korea ended, the family moved to Southern California, where Ron was discharged from the Navy on December 12, 1978. After his discharge from the Navy, Ron worked in the travel industry. Ron and Hae Ok divorced in 1982, after which, Ron moved to Seattle where he worked in a travel agency, and later moved back to Sandpoint and drove truck for Ace Septic. He loved Sandpoint, and always wanted to be there. 

 

Ron is survived by his mother, Catharine Carlene Henry Davis, three children, Warron, (Hilde) Erica, (Jack Marshall) and John (Tiffany); 9 grandchildren & 1 great grandchild. His twin brother, Don (Teresa) of Sandpoint, brothers Dale of Hope Idaho, & Ken (Celeste) of Sandpoint, older sister, Linda Norlen of Spokane and many nieces and nephews who enjoyed listening to Uncle Ron play guitar and sing.

 

Services with military honors will be held graveside at Pack River cemetery on Friday April 30th, 2021, at two in the afternoon, with Richard Hege officiating.
