Virginia Lucille Liggett

Virgina Lucille Liggett, age 71, passed away peacefully at Serenity House of Morristown on March 7th, 2025. Virginia was born on December 23rd, 1953, in Barnwell, South Carolina, spent her younger years in Washington and Idaho, and finally settled in Morristown, Tennessee in the year 2000.

Virgina was a strong, independent, and hard-working individual. She worked as an LPN for over 20 years, working at both Life Care Center of Morristown and The Heritage Center of Morristown. Virgina deeply cared for her patients always going above and beyond for both the patients, and her job. Virgina was a simple woman, but like all of us she had things which brought her joy: Horses, Sports (especially The Denver Broncos), the color purple, and cottage cheese with every meal. Virgina was a daughter, sister, grandmother, but above all she was a mother. Virgina always took the time to celebrate and support her children. She knew how to make you laugh and she could bring lightheartedness to any situation. She never panicked and always knew just what to do. Her guidance will be missed, and she will forever be loved by those who knew her.

Virgina Liggett was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Allan Liggett; parents, Leonard and Hester Reynolds.

She is survived by a loving partner of 20 years, Steven Woodroof; sister, Debbie Mace (Curtis); brother, Henry Reynolds (Lucia); son, James Liggett; daughters, Jennifer Tomason (Tom), Sierra Liggett, Melinda Liggett; grandchildren, Makaylla Liggett, Jazmin Creech, Jacob Slocum, Lanisa Liggett, Kira Ridenour, Kayla Ridenour; great-grandchildren, Everleigh Deering, and Wyleigh Broyles.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 am, Tuesday, May 27, 2025 in Pinecrest Memorial Park.
