Willetta "Willie" Chapman

Willetta “Willie” Chapman, 91, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2020 in Sandpoint, Idaho.

 

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am, Saturday, June 13, 2020 in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel with Pastor Barry Johnson officiating.

 

Willie was born on November 8, 1928 in Sandpoint, Idaho the daughter of Walter and Lillian Shields.  Willie attended local schools graduating from Sandpoint High School in 1946.  In 1948, she would move to Spokane, Washington attending the Sacred Heart School of Nursing graduating in 1948.

 

On October 6, 1951 she would marry Jim Chapman.  They lived in Rossland and Fruitvale BC.  They had four children and moved back to Sagle, Idaho in 1958 where they would have another child.  She would work at Bonner General Hospital for many years.  Willie attended New Song Bible Church in Sagle for many years.

 

Willie enjoyed crocheting, making afghans for every member of her family, every baby, graduating seniors and the members of her church.  She would donate afghans to benefits to help the people in need.

 

Willie did not know any strangers, was a member of the crochet club in Sagle and she enjoyed her family and church family.

 

Willie is survived by her four children; Richard (Rainey) Chapman of Spokane, Earl (Bobbi) Chapman of Sagle, Lynda (Brian) Berger of Sagle, Marvin (Cindy) Chapman of Sagle, Daughter in Law Sally Chapman of Sandpoint; sister Franki Roberson, Corky White and Helen Hui.  She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a large family in Canada.

 

She is preceded in death by her husband Jim, her parents, her son David Chapman, grandson Chris Chapman and her sister Lorraine.
